About Us

In 2020, thirteen organisations committed to supporting children and parents impacted by family separation and divorce joined forces to enhance frontline practitioner training and development. Our mission is clear: to significantly improve outcomes for children and their parents’ post-separation by ensuring that frontline practitioners are well-supported, expertly trained, and strictly adhere to best practice guidelines in this critical area.

The steering group that led our initial activities in 2020 and 2021 recognised the immense potential for collaborative efforts to elevate service delivery and practice for children and parents facing family separation and divorce. This recognition has culminated in the formal establishment of the Separation Network as a proactive working network. We secured initial funding from The Wheel | Training Links, and we are proud to have garnered ongoing support from Tusla, the Prevention Partnership, and Family Support.

Rainbows Ireland is the lead agency and takes charge as the Network Coordinator, driving our initiatives forward.
