Support Near You

There are two types of Rainbows Centres: school-based and public.

School-based groups are only available to children attending that school. Please check with your local school, as many primary and second-level schools are Registered Rainbows Centres.

Public Centres are available for everyone. Find the nearest public centre and contact them directly to ask about local arrangements.

Use the options below — also available under Find Support Near You in the menu — to see which centres are currently running groups, training facilitators, or registered but not running groups right now.

These centres have trained facilitators who are currently running Rainbows groups.

Registered — Training in Progress

These centres are registered with Rainbows Ireland and their facilitators are currently in training.

Groups may not have started yet. If you need support now, please choose a centre from Running Groups near you.

Registered — Not Running

These centres are registered and trained, but are not currently running a Rainbows group.

Please check the Running Groups list and contact another centre near you about places available.

Rainbows Ireland – Parent/Guardian Disclaimer

Rainbows Ireland Peer Support Groups bring together children who may have experienced bereavement, parental separation, or other significant losses in different ways. By taking part in a Rainbows Group, your child may meet peers whose experiences differ from their own. As part of these shared group conversations, your child may also become aware of aspects of bereavement or family change that they have not personally experienced.

All Rainbows Facilitators are trained to provide age appropriate, child centred support and to sensitively manage any issues or questions that arise during group sessions. Facilitators ensure that discussions remain suitable for the developmental stage of the group and that each child feels heard, respected, and supported at all times.appropriate, childcentred support and to sensitively manage any issues or questions that arise during group sessions. Rainbows Ireland is a peer support programme rather than a therapeutic or counselling service. Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace and only share what they feel comfortable sharing. If any concerns arise regarding your child’s wellbeing during the programme, a member of the Rainbows Team will contact you in line with our policies and procedures.
